The Stanford Routt project in Kansas City didn’t last long. Routt signed a 3-year, $19.6 million contract in February to join the Chiefs and now has been waived by the team to make room for Shaun Smith. I guess that will fix all the problems that they have in KC. I wonder what the KC fans are thinking of their GM for this move.

Routt played well as an Oakland Raider before signing on with the Chiefs. He has struggled with the Chiefs, BUT you would think that they give him more of a chance to prove himself. Maybe Routt can catch on with another AFC West team. Denver and San Diego both could use some corner help. I wouldn’t mind having more corners on this team.

Last season we took advantage of Kansas City’s hasty decisions by picking up Jared Gaither. Maybe we can find another gem in Routt.

Chiefs CB Stanford Routt cleared waivers. Now a free agent able to sign with any club. Should be some interest given his size and speed

If a team claims Stanford Routt off waivers, They have to pay a $10 option bonus in 2013… Don’t expect Chargers to go after him unless he clears waivers.
