The Chargers placed kicker Nate Keading on injured reserve Monday because of a groin strain, allowing them to sign free agent wide receiver Danario Alexander.

According to their website, Novak will handle kicking duties for the rest of the season and they will release Keading from the team as soon as he is off IR.

Good move since Keading has been getting paid to be injured the last two seasons.
