The Bolt Files – Chargers Suspicious Behavior

At the risk of sounding like Fox Mulder, I think I’m going to call the conspiracy card.  First, the big fail in New Orleans, then the obvious to anyone with eyes or ears game throw on Monday Night Football.  Now the Chargers Director of Public Relations telling fans to take a “chill pill”?

Either I have seen an alien or something is going on.  Like Fox, I want to believe in the Chargers, but their activity thus far has only made me believe a conspiracy is in motion.  Possible reasons to alienate fans?

Desire to move team – I suspect we will be seeing more blackouts due to this fiasco, when it comes time to vote on a tax for a new stadium will people remember this and vote NO?

Betting – Is it possible that there is someone in charge, making bets against our team and they are calling in the “chokes”?

Aliens – Did aliens invade Chargers park and are slowly taking over the team?  Wouldn’t that explain those interceptions by Rivers?

Tell me what you think could be the cause for all of this truly suspicious behavior.

It does have a sickening feeling to it. These weren’t close wins, these were complete and utter fails… On all sides of the ball. Chill Pill? No we have the right to freak out, the Chargers have a coach that maybe 80% of fans actually like, and as much as ESPN want to talk good about Norv they really don’t, they just revert to how “good” the team is. A team isn;t sh*t without a coach. How much longer will this go on? Is Spanos so confident in Norv that he honest believe the fans are over acting? This isn’t good. They did pick up Alexander, and they’re talking to previous first round bust OL Chris Williams. Always doing something to slow the bleeding but never enough to stop it. I’m worried.

We should be, right? I’m glad I’m not the only one out here on panic island!

:,( desire to move the team. I’m afraid it must be true. Wins and losses may not be fixed but doing nothing about it…nothing to appease the outraged fan base…then the big middle finger to us fans (chill pill)

Im glad im not the only one who thinks that the chargers are throwing these games so they can move to LA. I mean, why wouldn’t they want to? LA has made the right moves to get a new stadium built. Piss off the fan base, make them hate the team, more black outs then you have a legit reason to leave town.

The trouble with that idea is that LA doesn’t want the Chargers. They want the Rams. Also Raiders are looking to move and the owner has already come out and said they will not share the 49er stadium. I really think the Raiders want to move. If the Chargers move, that means they will have a big new stadium still almost empty if they continue down this road of poor playing. A new city and/or new stadium will not fix what is ailing the Chargers. Right now, they are not even close to a winning team.

Plus going through the “let’s piss off the fan base so we can move” theory—isn’t realistic. Do you think the Chargers are happy losing money (unfilled seats) now, so they can move later? Do they really think it is a good idea to be the laughing stock of the NFL before they make their “big move” to LA? If they want to move, they’ll do it. They don’t need to lose money now to make the big move.

I agree with you. This is just my way of sparking some great conversation. Thanks for joining in. :-) (I do think the whole alien thing has some teeth!)

          ALIENS!!

  • Tubbs45

I think Spanos wants to stay in SD. Win and you’ll get your stadium. Continue to lose like you have been and the CFL won’t even want you. They need to take the training wheels off Ingram and let him play more snaps. move garay to DE opposite Reyes/ leguit. I really think the constant swapping cause communication and chemistry issues. When is Taylor going to get some time over Nintendo, oppps, I mean Atari, that fool bites every play action pass.

    • http://boltbeat.com/ ChargerGirl Cindi

Bigby needs to learn the ropes, for sure. I can see the vets getting pissed at him.

As for the fix, oh it’s in alright. Watch the holding on SP on Peyton first TD pass, the tackle looked like a super hero cape trying to choke him out. False stars on PR cause his hands moved less an inch… Ok, but did you see Peyton’s head bobbing on the reconstructed twig? They said it was the manning rule… I guess they mean don’t call it on manning.
And in NO gates off PI was a bunch of horse shit, if the guy falls over cause you knock his arm off you at 10 yards out, at the very least its holding… Too many other bullshit.
