The Wonderful World of Charlie Whitehurst

Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE

What a wonderful job Charlie Whitehurst has.

The only time that Charlie will see playing time is if Philip Rivers‘ arm falls off or if the team has a HUGE lead. Based off of the meltdown against the Denver Broncos, no lead is safe. So Charlie will never get in to play.

If Philip plays well, Charlie gets to hold a clipboard and gets paid to watch football games from the sideline. He looks very official with his uniform, headphones and clipboard. His hair stays perfect and untouched during the whole game. The work day consists of a few hair flips here and there and his day is done.

If Philip plays awful, Charlie becomes the most popular guy in town. People start chirping his name, hoping that he could right the ship. Fans have amnesia about his playing days in Seattle and think that he is the saviour. That is part of the mystique of being number two.

Even though Charlie looks like the savior, he is not going to put any lipstick on this pig. This is Philip’s ship from beginning to end. It will be up to Philip to make things good again.

Charlie can do no wrong.

hey veazy… why do you have a hater? what did you do?

      • veazy

Yeah. The weirdo posted at a weirdo time (1 a.m.). If he isn’t creeping late at night, than he must be in Europe. I just insulted his college man-crush and told him to piss off.

the chargers don’t need whitehurst to win games. they just need a QB that can read the defense, make the check downs, move the chains, and not throw to the other team. problem? the OL has not been upgraded in over four years. the last 1-3rd pick was Luis Vasquez.
if gates is one of the best TE in the league, why does he only have 2td’s, six games into the season? use him. make adjustment to get him involved.

Give him a try; he will be more mobile than Rivers. A new youthful look to the offense; Hey, Norv try it you may like the results!

Not that I have any problems with Clipboard Jesus, I just don’t think he’s starting QB quality material, as we all saw last year in Seattle… I was actually pretty impressed with Jarret Lee during pre-season and thought with some NFL experience the kid could actually be a pretty strong starting QB. If Ryvers keeps flubbing the long ball (although I blame the receivers for this too) and tossing INTs, we’re going to need a solution in the long run… That solution is going to also require canning Norv and AJ though, which we’ve wished and prayed for for years now but still haven’t been graced with yet!
