Chargers at Saints: In Enemy Territory

trying to sneak a pic of the Saints with a Chargers player in it… Derick E. Hingle-US PRESSWIRE

I think the Saints do (miss Robert Meachem). Meachem was that receiver who could stretch the field and get behind the secondary. With a lot of the injuries at the position currently, they are really missing him.

Caught up with Gene Higginbotham from Who Dat Dish in order to preview the game against the New Orleans Saints. Sent him some questions about the team and here is what he responded:

1. Why has the Saints defense been so awful?

No pass rush is the glaring problem. But to be more specific, it’s defensive coordinator Steve Spagnuolo trying to run his scheme with guys who don’t have the ability to execute it the way he wants.

2. If Sean Payton were coaching, how many wins would the Saints have?

I think they would be at least 3-1 or at the worst 2-2.

3. Do you miss Robert Meachem?

I think the Saints do. Meachem was that receiver who could stretch the field and get behind the secondary. With a lot of the injuries at the position currently, they are really missing him.

4. If you could have one player from the Chargers roster and place him on the Saints, who would it be?

I think I’d like to see tight end Antonio Gates on the roster. With him and Jimmy Graham both lined up for Drew Brees, it would be a dream!

5. Will the Saints turn this slump around and how will they do it?

I believe they will. It starts with this game against the Chargers which is a much needed win. Also, once Joe Vitt comes back I think that things should get back to normal. Or as normal as it can be.
