Chargers Release WR Micheal Spurlock

bye bye… now who will fair catch our punts? Mandatory Credit: Kelley L Cox-US PRESSWIRE

The Chargers released Micheal Spurlock in order to make room for CB Chris Carr. The Chargers now have 4 receivers on the roster. Carr will now serve as the teams backup punt returner that will waive the fair catch sign. Carr will also be the 4th corner on the roster.

Nate Kaeding‘s doctors appointment must have went well and  that he will be able to kick later in the year. When Kaeding is ready to return, Nick Novak will probably be looking for another job and hopefully Vincent Brown will be ready to return and take that extra spot on the roster.

Hopefully the team can stay fairly healthy or we would have another tough roster decision to make. Seems like releasing Spurlock was the smartest option at this point. If the team needs to bring up another receiver, they have Mike Willie on the practice squad.

We are one bounty hit away from seeing Richard Goodman lining up at receiver. New Orleans wouldn’t do that though.
