KANSAS CITY, Mo. — The San Diego Chargers no doubt remembered their last trip to Arrowhead Stadium, back on Halloween night last season, when they gave away a game to the Kansas City Chiefs.

On the road within their division, the Chargers were the more physical team, the more prepared team and the more opportunistic team on Sunday, taking five turnovers in the first half, building a big lead and defeating the Chiefs, 37-20, at Arrowhead Staidum.

After Ryan Mathews’ costly red-zone fumble last week, the Chargers went with Jackie Battle as the starter against the Kansas City Chiefs. Battle will be the waiver wire darling this week and should be owned in all fantasy formats, especially if you’re a Mathews owner. Battle made an impact early, running for 39 yards on 15 carries with a touchdown and also scoring once through the air on four catches and 42 yards.

Chargers left tackle Jared Gaither and kicker Nate Kaeding are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Chiefs, but Gaither appears far more likely to play than Kaeding.

Gaither played all four quarters of Sunday’s game after one full practice this week, which followed 63 days without working on the field with his teammates at all due to back spasms.
