Now what does that mean? It appears that the Chargers have signed CB Chris Carr. Carr posted on twitter that he is “San Diego bound” and Gehlken says that he gives the team a 4th cornerback. Carr tried out for the team a couple of weeks ago and had a great practice. The Chargers face the high-flying Saints on Sunday.
The Chargers played against the Kansas City Chiefs with only 3 active corners on the roster. Shareece Wright has been hurt since the first game of the year and the team kept signing Greg Gatson off of the practice squad for help.
Now the Chargers need to figure out who they will release off of the roster, if they make this move.
I have had a weird feeling that Antonio Garay could be on the chopping block. He has been healthy for the last few weeks, but has been placed on the inactive roster. We will see who the Bolts release, when they make this move.
UPDATE (2:16 pm)
Acee reports that Chris Carr will be added to the roster for depth, the corresponding move could be Nate Kaeding to IR.
Carr recently spent time with the Baltimore Ravens. He started 16 games for them in 2010 and then was slowed by injuries last season. AJ Smith is picking up scraps from the Baltimore Ravens leftovers again.
