Chargers vs Falcons: Why The Chargers Will Win

Welcome to the weekly post on where we share why the Chargers will win, soon to be followed by the post where you all get pissed at me because I say why the Chargers will lose:

Bringing Sexy Back

Getting Ryan Mathews back in this game should be a nice boost for the running game. The Chargers were able to get the running game rolling late against Tennessee with Jackie Battle and Curtis Brinkley. Getting Mathews back in the game should add a little bit more to the offense. The Falcons allowed Willis McGahee to cut through their defense on Monday Night. Mathews could do the same against them.

We also should have Antonio Gates returning. He is the team’s best receiver and Philip will be sure to look his way often.

Our offennse has a lot more screen passes and swing passes this year, so the return of both players will be huge for the offense.

Jared Gaither also…. oh nevermind.

Short week for Atlanta and travel

The Falcons just played a game on Monday night, so they will be working on a short week and will be traveling from the East Coast to the West Coast. That should definitely help our boys out a bit.

Chargers Defense

It is still early, but you can already tell that the Chargers defense is world’s better than previous seasons. There is a lot of talent in the linebacking corps and the defensive front is strong.

The Falcons have a high powered offense, but our defense has playmakers and can make that game changing paly now. We will need some of those plays against Atlanta.
