THE BOLTDOWN: No, the Chargers Should Not Rotate Ryan Mathews

Good ‘ol Ronnie Brown, Curtis Brinkley, and Jackie Battle play hard, but there is a limit on which plays they can run with effectiveness. There is no such limit on Ryan Mathews and that’s why the San Diego Chargers should not even think about rotating him with these fine players.

Using the excuse of trying to keep Mathews healthy is beyond lame and it hasn’t worked anyway.

Matthews should be benched and allowed to heal. Then package him with Gates and trade them for “O” line replacements. The running game had “game” when the other RB’s were carrying the load. Perhaps you could throw Larry English into the mix just to sweeten the deal. I doubt that A. J. or Norv will wake up to the fact that they have found in Jackie Battle, a replacement for Tolbert. Duh!

that is the dumbest thing i’ve ever heard and people like you give charger fans a bad name. Gates is the heart and sole of this team clown. Give mathews a chance and i’m sure you will jump right back on the wagon. untill then stay off the forums because you’re giving us TRUE fans a bad name

all be it, we need a offensive line, I just wouldn’t give up our main guys for them.

    Dear Aaron
Apparently you did not see Dontae Rosario catch three TD’ against the Titans. He was Gates replacement. Gates is often hurt as he was for that game and now; It is an eleven player sport and you need them ALL to perform up to their best abilities.
As a TRUE fan, I was attending Chargers games when your parents were messing in their diapers. Go back to reading your comic books and playing “fantasy” football because you have no idea about the true nature of this team.
