Chargers Will Work Out CB Chris Carr w/ Injury to Shareece Wright

Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE

The San Diego Chargers will work out veteran CB Chris Carr on Tuesday (UT San Diego). With the injury to Shareece Wright, the Chargers are looking for more depth in the secondary. The Chargers signed Greg Gatson from the practice squad last week, but they released him on Monday in order to bring back OT Reggie Wells.

Wright has a high ankle sprain and is expected to take 4-to-6 weeks in order to recover.

When the Chargers do bring in a corner, the team will need to make another roster move. Reggie Wells was released last week in order to make room on the roster last week, but that will likely not be an option this time.

Will we finally make a move with Jared Gaither?

What is Gaither’s status as of now? If we put him on IR, is he done for the season? I was hoping Gaither would come back sometime soon, and we could move Mike Harris to RT.

We have already used the “designated to return” I.R. on Vincent Brown. If you place Gaither on I.R. he is done for the year. Is he already done for the year though?

Actually they can place Gaither on “designated to return” IR. It just depends on which player the Chargers would rather bring back.
