Chargers Injury Report: Mathews Not Cleared For Contact; Gates, Jammer Not Practicing

Ryan Mathews still has not been cleared for contact and it is still unknown when he will be able to come back to practice. The Chargers will make sure that the injury is fully healed before risking another injury to the shoulder. I don’t expect him to be active against the Tennessee Titans this weekend, but we will see id he gets clearance later in the week.

Quentin Jammer broke his hand and had surgery yesterday and did not practice. He will be playing on Sunday, but is probably getting a rest. He injured his hand in the first quarter of the game last week and kept on playing.

Antonio Gates also is not practicing after having a ‘barbecued ribs’ injury. He probably was taking a day off also. He played through the injury on Sunday and will likely do it again this weekend.

Shareece Wright did not practice after suffering a sprained ankle in the game and it doesn’t look like he will play this week.

Jared Gaither is doing what he normally does… NOTHING.

Gaither needs to man up or at least give us a progress report!!!
Why didn’t he have these spasms before he got paid!!!

I think Jared Gaither fooled the Chargers brass quite nicely and he may never see the field but would have a cool $13.5 million dollars in his bank account, more than enough to last a lifetime.

Just by doing a quick internet search one could see that this sort of problems have been a recurring theme, even the cause for termination from the Chiefs and Ravens. I don’t understand why the Chargers did what they did, I would like to think that they were fooled by someone but methinks it was more of pressure by a top official or member of the football squad.

Methinks Jared will be put on the PUP list at midseason and then released so at season’s beginning the team does not have a proven left tackle. How I miss Marcus McNeill right now.
