Chargers Beat Raiders: Grading the Bolts With Animated Gifs

Letter grades are for schools and for newspapers! Everyone else and their mamas will be doing the letter grades. We will be grading the Chargers each weeek with animated gifs instead.

The Chargers Offense:

What a boring performance from the offense. The running game looked horrid and the passing game only made a couple of plays that were exciting. That pass to Robert Meachem down the sideline was awesome though. The special teams gave the offense so many short fields and they only came up with one touchdown in the game.

The Chargers Defense:

They were unimpressive for most of the game, but then they turned it up toward the end of the game. Melvin Ingram ended the first drive by forcing a fumble and then the rest of the game the defense was trying to hold the Raiders to field goals instead of touchdowns. The Raiders seemed like they could move the ball down the field and convert third downs the whole first half, but never came up with the touchdown. The defense stepped up in the second half though and made plays.

The Chargers Special Teams:

Nate Kaeding nailed five field goals and kept drilling the ball down the field on the kickoffs. The special teams made the game changing plays with the help of Raiders long snapper Travis Goethel. Eddie Royal looks like he will break off some long punt returns this season. It will be an exciting unit to see this season.
