Chargers at Raiders: Chargers on Defense

STOP Darren McFadden
If he rips up the Chargers defense, we might as well call it a night. We might not be able to stop him, but we have to find a way to slow him down (even if he is on my fantasy team)! Anyone want to chip in on the bounty money on this one?

Unleash the beasts
Let the dogs loose and let them get after Carson Palmer. Melvin Ingram, Shaun Phillips, Antwan Barnes, Kendall Reyes and Larry English should all be in that backfield over and over and over again. Make a statement in the first game with this defense and punch Carson in the mouth.

Did I mention Stop Darren McFadden?
Well, just stop him already!

Denarius Moore loves playing against us
After putting all the focus on Darren McFadden on defense, we still have to keep our eyes on WR Denarius Moore. In his career, he has 3 games that he has topped 100 yards and 2 of them are against the Chargers. He has 5 career touchdowns and 2 against the Chargers. He loves his matchup against Quentin Jammer a little too much.

STOP DARREN McFADDEN!!!!
Last, but not least!

Who’s absent tonight? Ron McClain and Jarret Johnson along with English. Why McClain has been limited when it comes to touches who knows. Johnson has done alot of nothing and English has been seen running in circles. No Barnes to be seen and Pagano uses are favorite prevent defense with 3 minutes to go and lets the Raiders take everything they need. Smiths ego hasn’t played well so far and this novice thinks that Oline should have been picked up instead of johnson and McClain. The Draft looks solid but due to preseason injurys alot of Chargers aren’t playing when it counts. But I’m a novice and you’ll here it first from me. The Chargers look good, but Brown isn’t the best back out there, Brinkley is setting alot too! Well you have to play it really close to be safe and it’s paying on thwe scoreboard!!!!

I’d like to also point out to a few of the knowledgable writers that were calling for Kaeting to be replaced that all kick-offs were to the back of the inzone with plenty of hang time and all fieldgoals 1 TD. Huh, you’d think that a guy wouldn’t get blamed for a playoff loss when the offense didn’t do alot to win it outright. Gates hasn’t been aqble to use his body to shield a defender since all throws have been over the top. Alittle to protective when you make your best reciever change his routes. Rivers has thrown alot of high throws and he still doesn’t look sharp. The Chargers have done alot right to keep a lead but in the future they need to make TDs. This is alot due to hurried throws(OLine whoas) and a steady defense. If only that Oline would have been taken seriously. Smith never has had alot of respect for the big guys. If he has a chance he ought to be looking for some help in a trade for one of our many DTs. Everything was done right except he didn’t look at balance on both lines. And we still don’t have a sack at least not yet. Jarre3t Johnson worth the money, I think Barnes would have been a better fit.

3 minutes to go 3rd down and 14 jaret johnson lets the TE free for a first. Phillips the washed up Charger fets a sack, well maybe we did have the players and all we needed is Pagano at coach. Nah! It was our terrible personnel, especially that old Jammer who can’t cover anymore or even Cason, he can’t make plays anymore. What do you know, Phillips gets his 3rd. Still haven’t seen much of Barnes. Smith’s guys have taken the bulk of the defensive rushes at DE and only Phillips has got there. Dang a novice knew the old guys weren’t to blame for bad defense. Maybe when you get your bigboy pants and you really watch games you might get it . Ernie and Cindi and most the writers do. Trash talking doesn’t make you an expert, so if you played or coached football it does help but it isn’t instant knowledge.
