Chargers 22 – Raiders 14: Raiders Can’t Get The Snap Right

Wow.. how about those Raiders special teams? Kinda reminds us of our special teams from a few years ago! Thank goodness their long snapper could not figure it out.

The Chargers defense made some nice things happen. They forced a turnover and made big plays. Sacks galore near the end of the game, but we need to get more pressure on the quarterback at the beginning of the game.

The offense could not get the ball in the end zone. Felt like Norv Turner had Nate Kaeding on his fantasy team. We need to figure our how to get the ball in the end zone when we get in the red zone.

Looks like Philip Rivers figured out how to hit Robert Meachem deep.

Eddie Royal will make some awesome things happen on special teams.

Jared Gaither? Mike Harris did good enough for the time he was in.

Can’t wait till Ryan Mathews is back.  The running game looked ugly.

No turnovers! Thank goodness! Needed to see that happen from Philip Rivers and the offense.

Antonio Gates cannot jump. How many balls clanked off of his hands when he needed to get up in the air? He did make that one handed grab though.

What are your thoughts on the game?

Rivers looked sharp( minus his miss to malcolm in the endzone)and more importantly he had great decision making and never tried to force anything. Loving our defense right now. 59 minutes without a TD works for me. Was not happy with norv pulling a norv at the end though. 3 seconds left and he punts, horrible call should have had rivers toss one out of bounds or at least punt it out of bounds. But hey they are 1-0 and have a banged up titans coming home. Go Bolts! Do I dare get excited?

    Headlines:
    In Nate we trust
Jared, talk to Harris about how professionals do it.
Young guns on defense meet Carson Palmer. Say he tastes like chicken.

Nate Kaeding will be the difference this season, while the team gets on the same page.. pro-bowl.
What did I like? Road win! Division win! Conference win! No PR turnovers, or otherwise… smarty ball ; )

Better timing w/ Meachem. Royal looks scary… LOVED Shaun Phillips.. who I predicted to be the sack leader, FYI.
Most importantly… everyone picked the effin’ Raiders, except Donovan McNabb., so eat a D**K!

    Ryan Mathews… Please come home : (

Gaither? You a minute from being a cut. Get healthy, cuz we need you!!!!!!!!!!

Loved Shawn Philips’ play. Really makes a difference to have a fresh Barnes, an injury free English and stud rookie Ingram on the other side. This foursome should do big things this year. Held DMC to 32 rush yards-thanks Jarrett Johnson, Donald Butler and the rest of of our front seven. Did the Raiders throw to Weddle’s side of the field even once? He was the MAN! Bad mistake by Ingram at the end but he made up for it at the end on ST’s. Yes, Mike Harris manned up at LT but lets not overlook Norv’s game plan. He tailored it to keep him out of trouble. Let’s see what happens against Wimbley next week. Yes, our run game needs Mathews AND Gaither back. Mathews should be back by week 3. I’m hoping for a miracle with Gaither. GO CHARGERS!

Nate Keading makes a huge return!!

Defense was looking really good, Palmer was under pressure all night and force to get the ball out of his hands quickly. SP95 With 3 Sacks!!! Rookies played well beyond there years with the exception of Ingrams bone head mistake at the end of the game.

Was nice to see Rivers hook-up with Mech. for a bomb, Floyd is looking like he will slip into the #1 Receiver position if he can stay healthy, Gates was dropping balls!?!? Uncharacteristic.. I wonder how much his rib was bothering him once he got back into the game? Gotta find ways to get the ball into the ENDZONE!!! Should be better with the return of Mathews and consistency on the O-Line, Royal looked FANTASTIC!! Harris did a great job considering how physical this Raiders D is!

But the Coup de grace….. Was the play calling, in all 3 phases of the game, Norv played this offence smart.. Knew that there was going to be a ton of pressure and designed a game play that got the ball out of Rivers hands quickly and efficiently, Pagano had this D roll’n!! Kept the Raiders out of the endzone for 59 min and Special Teams exploited weaknesses!

big props to Rich Bisaccia and his special teams. they made big plays and won the game. i wonder what he could do, if he were in charge of the “whole” team?
