THE BOLTDOWN: What the Chargers Must Do to Win

The San Diego Chargers have a history of starting very slow under Norv Turner and that is not likely to change this year.

In the preseason, the Chargers struggled to stop the run (against the San Francisco 49ers anyway) and under Norv, the team has continued all trends from the preseason into the regular season.

If they can’t run they ball in the preseason, they can’t run the ball in the regular season. If they turn the ball over in the preseason, they’ll turn the ball over in the regular season and so on.

The Chargers must run the ball and stop the run while minimizing turnovers. Otherwise it’s going to be a supreme struggle, if not a blowout loss to the Oakland Raiders.
