“It’s nice to get started with an actual game-plan week,” coach Norv Turner said. “You can consider this the first day of an actual game-plan practice even though we have been working on Oakland. I thought our guys had a lot of energy, and we practiced extremely fast.”

The San Diego Chargers will honor the memory of fallen NFL superstar Junior Seau during their home opener on Sunday Sept. 16 … and TMZ has learned his entire family will be on hand to witness the ceremony.

The Chargers announced team captains following Thursday’s practice. The six players were elected by a vote of their peers and represent a cross section of team leadership.

Two games that could (should) have been won. A 17-14 Playoff loss in 2009, and a 27-21 regular season match up in 2011. What went wrong, defensively speaking, in those two games? The common answer for both games is a less-than-physical defensive back not playing up to his status as a first round draft pick.
