Chargers Injury Report: Mathews and Garay Limited, Gaither Only One to Miss

San Diego Chargers RB Ryan Mathews and DT Antonio Garay were both limited in practice. Mathews likely will sit out the game on Monday Night, but that will not stop him from getting his work in. If Garay is unable to play on Monday, Aubrayo Franklin will likely be the starter in the middle of the defense.

Everyone else on the roster, except Jared Gaither, participated in practice. Gaither took another day to rest his bad back. Same old story with him.

Mike Harris will be the starting left tackle in week 1, but hopefully the team can bring in some veteran help after the first game of the season. I don’t know how long Gaither will be sidelined, but bad backs are injuries that like to reoccur over and over again. We better prepare to have him sit out a few games.

In Oakland, Raiders WR Dennarius Moore was limited in practice and Coach Dennis Allen says that will be a ‘game-time decision.’ Moore tore up our defense last season and I wouldn’t mind him taking a week off to rest.

It’s becoming really obvious, the guy doesn’t even like being around the rest of the team. Even if he was hurt, you’d think he would want to be around his other teammates. He seems like he doesn’t like it in SD.
