The OLDEST team in the league. Either that means we are wiser than everyone or that means that we are falling apart and this is the last hurrah for a team of old players. There are 18 players on the roster that are over the age of 30:

6 Bigby, Atari SS 5-11 215 30 7 Central Florida
30 Brown, Ronnie RB 6-0 230 30 8 Auburn
80 Floyd, Malcom WR 6-5 225 30 7 Wyoming
67 Hadnot, Rex C-G 6-2 310 30 9 Houston
10 Kaeding, Nate K 6-0 187 30 9 Iowa

6 Whitehurst, Charlie QB 6-5 235 30 7 Clemson
61 Hardwick, Nick C 6-4 305 31 9 Purdue

95 Phillips, Shaun OLB 6-3 250 31 9 Purdue
5 Scifres, Mike P 6-2 221 31 10 Western Illinois
90 Franklin, Aubrayo DT 6-1 317 32 9 Tennessee
71 Garay, Antonio DT 6-4 320 32 6 Boston College
85 Gates, Antonio TE 6-4 260 32 10 Kent State
58 Williams, Demorrio LB 6-1 235 32 9 Nebraska
23 Jammer, Quentin CB 6-0 204 33 11 Texas
81 McMichael, Randy TE 6-3 248 33 11 Georgia
51 Spikes, Takeo ILB 6-2 242 35 15 Auburn

13 of those players will be starters on Monday Night against the Oakland Raiders.

What do you guys think of having the oldest roster in the league? Definitely don’t think of too many good things when people say that we are the oldest team in the league.

30 is the new 20 and 40 yrs old is the new 30. I don’t think the age is an issue because theoretically they should be more disciplined than the rookies and kids. The only bad part about the age is they probably have had more injuries over the years and we are now seeing, as the team gets older. But that can happen to the young guys also, as we saw on Pittsburgh with De Castro, the kid on Cleveland, and the kid with Dallas, along with our own accident prone player, Ryan Matthews. So, age is not a problem for me as long as players give it all they have.

maybe in life and baseball but in no way football. 30 is 30 in football. Just ask all running backs. Most all fall downhill soon after turning 30 hasn’t changed at all.

RBs are maybe an anomaly. Look at Ray Lewis, Takeo Spikes, Tom Brady, etc etc–. They are in their mid 30s and still performing. Then you have the young guys–who have gotten injured pretty quickly. The only thing is the young guys work cheap. Owners like that.

I think you mean that HOPEFULLY this is the last hurrah and that they haven’t fallen apart already

Well, go figure. NFL. com has posted another survey with 8 votes for the Chargers being the most underachieving team. However, I bring this up here because they said the vets (older guys) have backed up all their hype, whereas the younger players have failed to come through for the Chargers.
