Morning Dump

SAN DIEGO —- Jared Gaither wasn’t at Chargers Park on Tuesday while the team practiced.
“Every year it seems like there is something that happens in this game where you alter or adjust the 53-man roster,” coach Norv Turner said. “So, it is an important game.”
U-T San Diego is reporting Chargers’ left tackle Jared Gaither was getting an MRI on Tuesday and that the team is preparing to play without him at Oakland, which has one of the best defensive lines in the NFL, in 13 days in Week 1.
“The public might see it as the last game before the big time, the regular season,” Tolzien said in anticipation of Thursday’s home game against the San Diego Chargers. “But it’s such an important game for us younger guys, and guys trying to get a roster spot.”
