Chargers 12 – Vikings 10: Field Goals are our Friends

Where was Robert Meachem!?!

Robert Meachem struggled hooking up with Charlie Whitehurst on offense also. Whitehurst hit him in the hands on a long pass down the sideline and he dropped it. Maybe Micheal Spurlock will be the replacement for Vincent Jackson we were looking for.

Larry English
He really can get after the quarterback when he is not injured. Too bad he is always injured. While he is not injured, he is going to be an awesome pass rushing threat for us.

Melvin Ingram
Jurassic Mel killed a punt returner on special teams! He got a penalty on the play, but it was worth it to see the hit. He then scared all of Charger Nation after going down with an injury to his leg. It looks like it was just a thigh bruise and he could be back for the first game of the year.

Offensive line awful
Our offensive line was horrid!!! Mike Harris was constantly beat on the left side and rookie C David Molk was beat also. Genius decision for Norv to sit Philip Rivers for the game. Charlie Whitehurst was a stunt double in the game and was constantly hit. He survived though.

Replacement Refs awful also
Honestly felt that I missed Ed Hochuli in this game. So many bad bad bad calls in the game.

The Kickers
Nate Kaeding killed it by banging in some 50+ yarders, but when it came time for a clutch kick, Norv called on Nick Novak to kick the game winner. He should have let Kaeding get a shot at the clutch kick.

The Defense
The defense looked really good. They got a lot of pressure on Christian Ponder and forced turnovers. Eric Weddle looked like he was hitting harder than anyone else on the field last night.

Great to hear the SupaMelvin injury isn´t really something serious!
Meachem: What to say?…It´s really time to step up, man you´re gettin paid – you don´t have to be a VJax (Vincent Brown will take over this job one day), but you have to show something, man!!! But I will be patient & have trust that being the 27th overall pick in the 2007 draft isn´t just something for the stats section, but that you actually can show that on field when it counts (and that would be at least on Sept, 10th).
O-Line: That line yesterday do not really deserve to be called that name. Ok maybe thats harsh, we got some rookies in there, and they played against the sack master himself Jared Allen. But it was the 3rd game, just a slight improvement would have been nice. But whatever, hope Gaither & Green can make a difference, but I think we BoltHeads have to accept the fact, that this line will be risk factor the whole season.
But MAN: 3-0 in preseason – UNdefeated, there gotta be some positive elements in it :)
And there are – as you said English stood out, defense looked good. But I wanna add here another name: Mike Willie #83 – he made again some nice catches. No touchdown this time, but caught 2 nice long passes (should I add: …something Meachem couldn´t do…?…no no won´t do it, already bashed And Baker came up with the only big play in the running game…
So please god, no bad injuries anymore…Bolt Up!

Vikes vs: Bolts – Pops report card.
Team: Undisciplined, 11/70 in penalties, NO “O” Line-MIA, Negative on the Ingram injury, Contenders for the toilet “bowl”

Norv: Has DunLap disease – that is where your belly has “dun lapped” over your
belt. Norv lookes flustered, Angry, Confused- he apparently knows that this is his last year.
Pops Nightmare: Dean Spanos chooses Jon (chuckie) Gruden as his next Head Coach. Gruden is a big talker who has done nothing lately for football except be a talking head on NFL broadcasts. It looks like those “in the know” are correct in saying the Bolts are an 8-8 team.

** A bright spot is that Jarrett Lee may become the Chargers starting QB sooner
    than later.

Pops forgot to say that A. J. Smith was a knucklehead for not drafting some new talent on the left O Line when he had the chance. If he wanted his QB’s to be Running Backs he should have kept Drew Brees.
I can’t wait until this arrogant fool is out of San Diego.

Larry Englishdid not get hurt. got a sack and a pressure, “against the 2′s”Melvin Ingram
will return. needs to start.Offensive line awful
agreed. make a statement now. fire Norv, AJ and the O-line coach. before the season starts.Replacement Refs awful also
agreed. two refs were standing in the backfield , looking at vaughn martin being held, from crushing the QB.The Kickers
now if Nate can make those in the post season…..The Defense
while still showing improvement. i need the front seven to make those tackles, instead of the Weddle.
