Cowboys WR Dwayne Harris Calls Quentin Jammer Hit a Cheap Shot

In practice yesterday, Dallas Cowboys WR Dwayne Harris was BLOWN UP by San Diego Chargers CB Quentin Jammer after making a reception. Harris thought that the hit was a cheap shot:

“He caught me right on the chin,” Harris said. “My face still hurts a little bit. I’ll get a little ice on it, and I’ll be OK.”

A cheap shot?

“I definitely think it was a cheap shot,” Harris said. “I wasn’t looking and took a helmet to the chin. – Dallas Morning News

Jammer spoke about the hit after practice also:

“I wasn’t trying to run through him or decleat him,” Jammer said. “It just happened that he didn’t see me. He was running along the 1-yard line, and I gave him a shoulder. It wasn’t malicious. … – UT San Diego

Check out the hit for yourself in this video (around 40 secs into video):

Cheap shot? Probably…. that also might be the hardest hit I have seen Jammer deliver on the football field.

yah… how was practicing with the cowboys (or any other team) a good idea?

You get to practice against different players and schemes… how is it not a good idea?

      • davacho

well, let me tell you… but first, do you think practicing against the raiders is a good idea? the point i’m making is that injury is a major concern for the chargers- and that more injuries would result from playing against a competitor as opposed to our own team… guys wouldn’t hit as hard, tempers wouldn’t flare as much… seems logical?

also, do you really think any team would show us a scheme we haven’t watched hours of tape on? no benefit there.

going against different players is the only positive, but that’s what preseason games are for and one positive doesn’t always count as a good idea.

We all know how hard Jammer hits. If Harris didnt he does now ha. Seemed just like a good play to me. Maybe with what happened earlier Jam threw a little more into it, cant blame him if he did

The only thing that was missing from that hit was Smokey……”You got knocked the @!&$ out”
