Morning Dump

The NFL preseason provides four opportunities for players on the bubble to distinguish themselves. A few good plays could make the difference in securing a spot on the 53-man roster or at least the practice squad. With one preseason game down, the San Diego Chargers have several players who desperately need to stand out in the remaining three games.

Coach Norv Turner began implementing the game plan for Saturday’s preseason matchup against the Cowboys with a walk-thru Thursday morning.

SAN DIEGO —- Le’Ron McClain signed with the Chargers this offseason and said all the right things. Despite a productive history running the football, he came here to be a blocking fullback.

OXNARD, Calif. – Despite the patchwork state of the offensive line and the absences of Jason Witten and Miles Austin from the Cowboys’ first-team offense, quarterback Tony Romo will play Saturday against San Diego.

OXNARD, Calif. — The Cowboys are confident that Barry Church will be a quality starter at strong safety, but there is still one big question.

The San Diego Chargers’ eight-time Pro Bowl tight end was left off NFL Network’s list of The Top 100 Players of 2012, and this does not sit well with him.
