Jared Gaither Progressing SLOWLY... Slow Like Molasses

Jared Gaither is one day better than yesterday, but only because the day changed on the calendar and not because his back is feeling any better. Coach Turner says that they are “day-to-day” with his progress and he is “slowly” getting better (Gehlken).

That word “slowly” should be put in 500 font and in bold!

SLOWLY

Holy cow has it been slow! He has practiced ONE day of training camp! It’s Wednesday and he still is not practicing, so he won’t be ready for the next game against Dallas. Will he return in time for Game 3? Game 4? Opening Monday Night?

When reporters ran into Gaither and asked about Norv’s comment of  ‘getting better each day’, he responded with “That’s the way I like to think. Yeah. Getting better.”

THAT’S THE WAY I LIKE TO THINK?!?!?!?

Come on brotha! Quit playing this game!

Is it just me or does anyone else feel like he will be sitting around for a good long time? That is not what “I like to think,” but I have a gut feeling. I know that some people feel differently and think that I should get off his back, but that is just the feeling I have.

His history tells me that his back is not good and it might not ever be good. His nickname that he got of “The Big Lazy” in Baltimore says enough. His audition last season was good enough to get a paycheck, but now that he has his money he has done nothing.

I know it is still early, but when can we stop using that excuse? Give me a date. You tell me how long I should wait before I panic and then I will get off his back until then. He doesn’t need any more pressure on that busted back anyway!
