Not Falling For The Jarrett Lee Smoke Screen

Aug 9, 2012; San Diego, CA, USA; San Diego Chargers quarterback Jarrett Lee (16) drops back to pass against the Green Bay Packers at Qualcomm Stadium. Mandatory Credit: Jake Roth-US PRESSWIRE

I know some people loved what Jarrett Lee did in the preseason opener and his numbers were pretty good. He moved the offense down the field for two touchdowns and we won the game. Sarcastic WOOHOO!

But, stealing the words of my favorite female country singer (there are only 2 of them, right?), “That don’t impress me much!”

Maybe it was the number 16 on his back that immediately puts bad feelings in my stomach. Maybe it was the floaters he threw out to Vincent Brown that required a prayer and a circus catch in order to be a completion. Maybe it is because I am blinded by the stunning beauty of the clipboard. Maybe it is because I refuse to get fooled by another Bryan Walters type performance in the preseason again.

Maybe Preseason Game 2 will change my thoughts, but for now consider me Team Clipboard!

    On point Ernie. Team Clipboard.
Where were you the other night…. lol. Gonna be giving away a jersey or two at our bowling night. High score….But, I’m gonna roll to keep em! Can’t wait to meet you bro!

i liked what kid did, didnt like what the clipboard did with his last team. We saw what clipboard could do as a starter and it was not so much. but at the same time when rivers wasnt able to go we also seen what the clipboard could do. i like the kid, do i see the chargers keeping him, not so much. but i wouldnt be upset if lee made the team either. they will be obsolete anyway once the season starts. i dont see rivers getting hurt but i could see Lee getting us a draft pick like clipboard did. do u think that we would be able to trade clipboard again, i dont think so. but in time i think Lee could. but what ever happens. they wont see the field anyway. Go Chargers.

If Lee would be able to get us anything, I would jump on it immediately.

Right now, I will just say it was only one game. He might be able to quiet me down with another good performance on Saturday.

Philip better be playing the whole season for us, because I wouldn’t trust the season in either backups hands

dont get me wrong i also agree it was only one game and its to early but i liked they way he just stood in there and it didnt look to big for him, we will see him again and he may just blow it, lol .

Also, shouldn’t backup QBs be rated on how well they hold the clipboard?

Like you I wasn’t fooled either! Clipboard knows the system and unless Lee shows alot more in the coming weeks the clipboard will be #2!

    Geaux Lee. Facts.

Given a chance Lee will be a better than average QB. And take you to the play off’s. OR YOU MIGHT HAVE A BONE HEAD COACH AND NOT PLAY HIM!!
