Kevin O’Connell’s time with the team was short but it was needed for the offensive weapons to get reps in practice. Charlie Whitehurst is ready to take the ball again, so O’Connell’s services were no longer needed. Kevin was released today after his work with the team.

Charlie Whitehurst will be the backup quarterback on the team unless he is injured. If he goes down with a serious injury, then look for the Chargers to sign another veteran onto the team.

forgot to finish, O’Connell made the first string Offense look like the third string. Are we sure we don’t want to keep 3 QB’s on the roster?

we dont need 3… if Rivers goes down, we are screwed anyway… just keep volek on speed dial

Agreed. Rivers gets hurt and we are picking in the top 7 of the draft.

disagree. We have Norv. isn’t he supposed to be a QB guru? An d yes we do need 3. that’s why most teams carry 3 QB’s, because they don’t see the logic in throwing their chances into one basket. Besides if the Chargers want to carry Dombrowski and Clary on the roster, i’m keepin’ 3 QB’s
