The Future of Football

Road to the NFL starts nowYesterday was a day I have been waiting for since I found out that my second baby was a boy.  The first day of football conditioning.  I can’t even describe the anticipation as we purchased our first pair of football cleats.  An event I will never forget and I hope that my 5 year old will not either.  Conditioning is two hours a day, four days a week for the first two weeks.  About halfway through our first practice my son walked off the field, looked me in the eye and said “I didn’t think it was going to be this hard”.  He is my baby and I spoil him like crazy, but I gave him a drink of water, turned him back around and told him to run back in to his coach.  He had tears in his eyes, but he did it.  In my heart I know this is the beginning of my football life and his football career.  “Play through the pain” I said.  I am sure I will say that more times than I can count, but it will be worth it when I am sitting in a room full of friends and family awaiting a call from the Chargers (please let it be the Chargers!) and he will thank me for this day.

The future of football starts now.

    How cool!

I remember loving the conditioning, non-pads stuff.  I used to be a natural runner.  Then when we got to full pads…… that’s when I said, “This is gonna be hard!” lol.   I was one of the smallest guys on my 7 yr old team.

Just reading this brings back sooo many memories!! Thx Cindi for sharing.

@BoogaP You are very welcome.  I hope to be updating on his rookie status for the next 15 years.  Then everyone will be writing about him.
