Chargers Sign RB Jackie Battle

The Chargers added another piece to the puzzle at runningback with the addition of former Chiefs RB Jackie Battle. The Chargers already added veteran RB Ronnie Brown earlier this offseason. Battle would be able to contribute on special teams and will be fighting for a roster spot.

The Chargers have runningbacks Ronnie Brown, Curtis Brinkley, Edwin Baker and Michael Hayes on the roster. It will be a tight battle during camp between all of them.

    well the man can block and he is pretty good on the goaline. I bet he is a descent special teams guy also so this may be a good thing. they just made the competition at hb just that much more interesting. I applaud the Chargers for signing aubroyo franklin and I think I like the direstion the team is going with there commitment to improving the defense. focus on being solid in all aspects of the defense. but I am still concerned about our cb situation it will be interesting to see how it plays out . I ben dying for us to acquire atleast one shutdown corner……..

      looc how everything is trying to come together. they addressed the dline the lb core and also addressed the safety position by drafting brandon taylor a signing atari bigsby. so that says they are really trying to patch things, up and in my opinion the are doing a descent job…….

    Good signing for you guys. Battle won’t make a lot happen on his own but if your line can blow open a hole for him he can do some damage. He is faster than you would think for a Rb of his size and he was an excellent special teams player in KC. Solid locker room guy. Just an over all good depth move. Well done.

       @Arowhead_Addict how do you feel he did at goal line situations?

    Another RB? Didn´t see that comin. I agree: It will be a tight “battle” during camp between all of them.

       @Bolts_NFL_music hahahah… guess i can’t say that anymore

    I’m a little sad that Brinkley seems to be getting phazed out. Guess I gotta l have some faith in the professionals. Still.. I would have hoped he proved enough in camp so far, that they didn’t need to bring anyone else in. Unless they just don’t like what they see from  Brown, and intend on cutting him. Still early, I suppose.

    LOL. i guess bringing in RB’s in the Twilight  of their careers, assures Mathews he will not have to share touches. A young RB would mean competition. LOL
