Happy birthday to Roscoe Parrish who turned 30 today. Parrish finds himself fighting for a job during Chargers training camp. He will need to impress the Chargers or some other teams in the league for him to continue his NFL career.
If he makes the Chargers roster, he would be able to contribute on special teams as a punt returner and he also could help out in the slot on offense. He excels at making defenders miss in the open field and adds a spark when he gets his hands on the football. During his career with the Bills, he was mainly used as a punt returner and they tried to use him in the slot as well. He had to fight through a lot of injuries and a change of scenery could be good for him and his career.
Having a quarterback like Philip Rivers should give him more opportunities to succeed as well. The depth at wide receiver in San Diego is packed. Roscoe needs to impress the coaching staff on offense and special teams.
Here are a few of the receivers that are on the roster:
Usually teams will keep 5 receivers on the roster and sometimes they expand that to 6. It will be a battle for that last spot on the roster. Will Roscoe Parrish be on the roster when we open the season?
