I know some will hate this but as good a back as tomlinson was the unamed auther of the selfish piece was right. It’s something that has stuck in my craw for sometime now. he wanted to beat out Emmitt Smith for the Rushing title. A Championship would have to wait. If Tomlinson goes in and gets taped to the max and comes out and plays those playoff games ( he was our best weapon!) do we win. Tomlinson might have injured himself so badly he never would have played another down. The ultimate goal is a Superbowl and 10 other offensive guys are counting on you. yet towel over head on the bench he sat moping insted of going back to the locker room and getting ready to come back in. Showing back up in a game for a couple plays can inspire a team to do great things. But Tomlinson was about Tomlinson and his carrys, his legacy. After that injury he wouldn’t take much contact, fight through it. That is the difference between a Hall of famer and a Great Running Back. We all want to worship LaDainians contributions to our Chargers team, but in reality a little bit of all of us will never know what if he’d shown a little more emotion, a strength from God to come out and give it his best effort behind the best blocker in the NFL. Alot of backs have had to deal with the same pain if not worse to win in the playoffs. Tomlinson never showed the team that will when they needed him to give it everything he had. It takes a great teamate, a equal, someone that will give up his own for the benefit of the team. Go back and watch the tape.
