“The window is closing, the window is closing!!! Philip Rivers is 30 years old, Antonio Gates is 32, Quentin Jammer is 33, Shaun Phillips is 31!! The team is getting close to ancient and the window keeps closing!”

The window could be closing. Here are a list of Baby Bolts that will need to step their game up real soon:

Corey Liuget – Age 22Last season’s first round draft pick has a lot of potential and started to show it toward the end of the season. Hopefully a change in defensive cooridinators will get him moving in the right direction. He is still a young buck and could make large strides this season.

Kendall Reyes – Age 22Rookie Reyes is expected to make an impact in the pass rush this season. We expect him to be plowing over Peyton Manning and the rest of the AFC West QBs a few times this season.

Ladarius Green – Age 22Pee Wee is not expected to do too much this season, but in a few seasons he should be a force as a pass catching tight end. He will sit back and learn from the best and then take over the reigns in a couple of seasons.

Melvin Ingram – Age 23Why does he seem so mean? We haven’t seen him on the field yet, but we expect him to bite the heads off of quarterbacks after he sacks them. There are some big expectations for the kid.

Vincent Brown – Age 23We caught a glimpse of what he could do last season and he could be in the starting lineup as soon as next season. Brownie just makes plays!

Donald Butler – Age 23D.Booty put together a nice season in the middle of the defense. Reports are that he is faster and stronger this season, so we could see even more from him.

Marcus Gilchrist – Age 23Jammer’s time will be up soon and then we get to see Kid Gilchrist taking that starting job. He already will see a lot of time covering the slot this year.

Jonas Mouton – Age 24Once Takeo Spikes finally decides to hang up his pads in another 15 years, Jonas will get his chance to shine. He should see action this year giving Takeo a breather.

Ryan Mathews – Age 24Ryan already was brought out to Hawaii and he will be getting more opportunities to touch the football this season. If he starts erasing some of the fumbling and injury question marks, then we could have something special on our hands.

That was just a quick look of some of the kids on the roster that are under the age of 25. The future depends on how they develop and what they can provide on the team.

There are a lot of kids on the front seven of the defense and they will get a lot of time to work together. Reyes, Liuget, Ingram, Booty, and Mouton could be a group of defenders that we see causing havoc for a long time. Add in 25 year old Cam Thomas to that list and we are an outside linebacker away from a starting front 7! The kids will bring excitement and athleticism to the defense and all of them could make an impact this season.
