Norv Turner received a stay of execution after last season — the second straight in which San Diego missed the playoffs. Turner has managed just a 17-15 record over the past two years, and the Chargers have not won a playoff game since 2008, despite rosters rife with talent.

I got the below graphic, complete with an invitation for the “Arrowhead Addict’s” to come on down to San Diego on November 1st for the Chiefs/Chargers Thursday Night Football smackdown. Apparently, the Chargers would rather invite fans of the opposing team to come to the stadium rather than face the shame of being blacked out on a night they are playing a nationally televised game.

Chargers offensive lineman Mario Henderson is listed at 6-foot-7 and 300 pounds, which demonstrates just how far from reality listed weights can be. But while Henderson may never get down to 300 pounds again, through hard work this offseason he’s as light now as he’s been in a very long time.

At a time when some football players are saying they don’t want their kids playing the sport because of the risks involved, one former NFL player says the biggest risk to kids’ health come when parents don’t encourage them to be active at all.
