Jacob Hester Leaves Practice in a Sling

Jacob Hester injured his shoulder on the last day of minicamp and left practice in a sling (Gehlken). Hester doesn’t think that the injury will be anything serious and he should have plent of time to heal. The Chargers will have a month off until training camp starts up in July.

Currently, the only fullbacks on the roster are Hester, Leron McClain and rookie Mohamed Marah. Marah is unlikely to make the final roster. If this injury were to occur during the regular season, the Chargers would likely slide over TE Randy McMichael or Dante Rosario as the emergency fullback. It could be another reason that we keep four tight ends on the roster.

You said it in the last sentence.

My belief is that we were going to keep 4 TEs anyway, but, this is just more reason to do so.

I don’t see Rosario in that role but McMichael has already filled that role for us in the past.

There goes one injury.  Does it snowball? Let’s hope not….. Hopefully it’s not serious.
