Ladainian Tomlinson “I Feel Like I’m Graduating Today”

Robert Benson-US PRESSWIRE

Ladainian Tomlinson held his press conference for his retirement today and borrowed the words of the late great Junior Seau and said that he feels like he is graduating today. Of course that made people wonder if he could see a possible return to the game under any circumstance. He responded and said that he has thought about retirement for a while and he doesn’t see a return happening.

LT talked about how much he loved beating up on the Raiders. He remembered his very first home game against the Raiders and Oakland almost had as many fans at the Q as Chargers fans. He swore that would not happen again as long as he was a Bolt. As a football player coming out of Texas, rivalry games were big and the Raiders were his rivalry game. One of LT’s favorite memories was beating the Raiders 7 or 8 games straight.

LT is graduating! Congrats to our San Diego great on an awesome career that thrilled us fans.

Yeah we loved it too to watch them beat the Raiders 7-8 times straight. I wanna thank LT for great, great football moments and of course especially for the ´06 season -> AFC #1 seed. LT you will always be a Charger – and think about removing your Jets tattoo haha :)

Nothing against Tomlinson (Lawrence Taylor is LT) but I think we were our own worst enemy during that stretch. That said, I wish him well in retirement.

@ElBandido  @Bolts_NFL_music I wouldn’t put Lawrence Taylor on too high of a pedestal, especially with the way he handled himself after retirement. To me, Ladanian Tomlinson is the real LT.

I love LT and it broke my heart when he wasn’t a Charger.  Now, my heart is repaired and I’m smiling.  What an amazing role model.  If the Spanos family has any smarts they will hire him as a coach.  :-)

I loved it when he even thanked the equipment managers. He’s a good dude and I wish him luck in his future endeavors.
