Nick Hardwick: “We WILL make the playoffs this year”

One step at a time! Nick Hardwick is not going to go all Rex Ryan out here and say that we are going to be the next Champion of the world. He is not going to go Lebron James and start counting are rings before they are hatched. First things first, we have to make it to the playoffs.

“We are hungry. We haven’t made the playoffs the past two years. We are ready to rock. We will make the playoffs this year. It is just a mindset. We are ready to get it done.” – Nick Hardwick (CBS Sports)

Now, that is Nick Hardwick speaking. Can we get our boy Philip to publicly guarantee a  Super Bowl win? Proclaim that he is elite and better than Eli? I would love it! That might get us some attention!

Yep.  Of course, I say this every year.  :-)

    • BoogaP

I do too. Every year, BUT, i just think that there is something special about this year. Tons of storylines and a great combo of youth and experience in all phases of the game.

@BoogaP The only trepidation I have is Norv Turnip.  If we had almost any other head coach I would be 100% confident.  Our guys are going to be the surprise stars of the NFL!  (ok, putting down the kool-aid)

        • BoogaP

Put it down but don’t pour it out! lol.
LMAO! One of the emails I received duting the first contest referred to Norval as “Nerd Terdlet!”
I honestly laughed for about five minutes.

@BoogaPand CindiSpears; There’s something special about every damn year the last 40 I’ve rooted for them. There is always something in the way whether it be defense down year or SPECIAL TEAMS, but I’d like to agree. If Coach Bisaccia and Pagano really fill in for Norvs faults maybe we’ll be pleasently surprised. Only time ( which keeps on streching) will tell. But it has always been somthing and Smith did a bang up job this year ( wow I can’t believe I said that ) so it’s up to Norv. Even with them not really addressing the Oline as much as I thought they would they should be 14-2 at the end.

In other news Antarctica is cold and water is wet……….. I agree with Booga though, i do think there is something special brewing at Chargers Park, and i do believe our guys are hungry for a championship, that hasn’t been our problem in recent years though… Injures have, that will be the deciding factor this season.

    • BReisinger86

All we can do is hope that the emphasis on “Depth” will be enough for the crushing injures we seem to have every season

Someone from the team had to say it……. I really do feel that will get the Trophy this year. So many players with something to prove Phillip Rivers, Jammer, Cason, Castillo, Gaither, Meachem ,Floyd, English, Mouton and many more but u get the point. BOLTUP!!!

it speaks volumes that nick hardwick made that statement he must be the vocal and emotional leader of that oline and made people believe and buy into what he is saying with his work ethic and performance. I definately agree with him in every aspect because we really do have a great team on paper the key its that they thrive in camp and really learn the system. one of our major flaws was our special teams unit since we lost osgood sproles and now tolert we tooc a downward spiral. we were always top 3 in special teams. now that patrick crayton wonr be the one returning punts we will vastly improve in that department……. defense is something we all knew was ugly for us tho we started to get it together at the end of the season but we made some great acquisitions that are underrated. its on fOr us!

  • Chargertom

I believe him. They will make the playoffs!

  • SteveDiaz

Yes! This is the kind of spark I’ve been waiting for from the Chargers. If it’s not the coach to motivate the team, then let it be the team itself! Hope this spark spreads into a fire to finally get the Bolts over the top!

I believe you Nick and then some. I hope your health stays great as your an inspiration to the team. Hardwich is the heart and soul of the Oline and I hope he gets the linemen all on one page this year and allows Rivers and mathews to have the biggest year in Chargers history. Nick is on the clock with the injurys he’s indured so for him it’s a matter of getting his part done which I have no doubt he will.
