Chargers to Tryout LB Brian Banks

The San Diego Chargers are going to give recently exonerated LB Brian Banks an opportunity to tryout for the roster. It would be a nice feel good story for the kid if he is able to make the roster, but he will have to prove a lot to the coaching staff. We will be rooting for him to make some things happen.

Banks also has a tryout with the Seattle Seahawks coming up. Pete Carroll was recruiting Banks out of college and nay give him an opportunity in Seattle.

Imagine how much he has built in that he wants to let out, what better way than playing the game he loves.

I hope he can come in and wow the staff!

Really hope he at least makes the practice squad! What a story!

Even if it’s not here, I hope he gets a roster spot or at least signed to somebody’s practice squad. It would be one of those feel good stories. I feel bad for this young man and what he’s gone through.

This guy has a tragic story: Wrongfully accused of rape by a classmate at age 16 (but he pleaded guilty on the advice of his attorney). After all these years in prison as a young man, or better kid, it must be hard to focus on starting a NFL career at the age of 26.
I would be happy for him if he could make the roster, but he never played college football and to catch up all this years…seems to be hard hard work. But of course you always got to think big and go for your dreams. So if he is able to play on a NFL level, then his place in the roster is fine with me.

He may not have experience, but he definitely has the heart. Also, he may be 26, but he doesn’t have the wear & tear of an NFL player who is 26 & has been getting beaten up from playing football. Shoot, Ray Lewis is 40, and look at Spikes. We’re all pulling for you Banksy!!!!
