Who Will Be The Chargers Slot Receiver: Eddie Royal or Vincent Brown?

Who will be lining up in the slot to START the season? We all know that this can change at half time in the first game since Malcom likes to get tangled up when he jumps for the ball. BUT at the very start of the season, who do we think will be lining up in the slot?

Last season, we had hoped that Patrick Crayton would be able to bounce back from his injury and put up the nice numbers that he put had in the previous season. That didn’t turn out the way that we had hoped and Vincent Brown ended last season stealing his snaps.

Vincent Brown will be one of the favorites to start in the slot. He doesn’t have burning speed, but he knows how to get open and he will make sure to attack the ball while it is in the air. There were a few miscommunications with him and Philip last year, but they should be able to iron those things out after a whole off-season together.

Brown might not be the favorite heading into camp though after the acquisition of Eddie Royal from the Denver Broncos. Royal is a speedster and he makes defenders miss in the open field. He can make a lot of good things happen when he has the ball in his hands, but he also has had some injury issues in the past.

Regardless of who wins the job, both are expected to see time on the field. Hopefully we can keep everyone away from the medical staff and we can have a good competition between the two in camp. Both will be good targets for Philip during the season and Norval should have fun using all those receivers.
