Top 100 Players of 2012: Philip Rivers Ranks in at #61

Philip Rivers had a bad year! He threw the ball to the wrong jerseys for the whole first half of the season and if he played better, we would have had a better ending to the season. Sure, ranking in at number 61 is low for our baby giraffe, but he had a bad year!

Even in a bad year, our quarterback still ranked in as a top 100 player in the league.  I can’t wait to see how he does this year! He slipped from the 26th ranking a year ago, to number 61 this year, but we should see that rise again in the future.

He can’t play as bad as he did last year! His numbers were awesome still, but his bloated turnover stats were a killer. Those turnovers will definitely be cut down.

I really enjoy that an opposing defender, Von Miller, is giving him respect. Miller faced him twice last year and we are sure to have many battles with the youngster in the years to come.

Philip Rivers: Underrated or Overrated at ranking 61?

Underrated, I think he was underrated last year at #26, way underrated.

Way underrated!!! we all know he was going to slip from last year cause of all the INTS, but most people don’t realize that a lot of that was a result of the breakdown at O-Line and receivers not being where they should be or flat out giving up on plays…. Its not the position of 61 that upsets me its the QBs that will be ranked ahead of him… Cam Newton, Ben Rapestburger, Eli Manning. none of these guys hold a candle to Rivers from a pure QB perspective!

What really upsets me is what Sapp was saying about him in the after show!!! That he can not trash talk till he goes down to Tiffanies and picks up that ring…. Sapp, have you ever listened to him miced up?!?!? Its not like he is ever saying anything bad about anyone, he dose not have a mean bone in his body!! This is a guy who is a tremendous competitor, goes out there week in and week out and gives it everything he has. The “Trash Talking” is not so much trash talking as it is having a good time and enjoying the competitiveness of this game!! Thats what its all about… Phillip, You’re #1 to us buddy!
