Former Chargers RB Ladainian Tomlinson is 95% Retired

According to Sports Illustrated’s Jim Trotter, for San Diego Chargers RB LaDainian Tomlinson is 95% retired. He also added that it would take the right team and situation for him to come back and play.

A San Diego great is on the verge of hanging the cleats up. He is leaving a little crack in the door to step back in, but it is getting close to that time that he walks away.

It would be awesome to have LT back here for one more season as the veteran back behind Ryan Mathews. He would be able to step in on third down and we already know that he has a nose for the end zone when we get down close. He has all kinds of experience in this league and can pass it on to the young backs we have on our roster.

Could we be that right situation?

I don’t know how the rest of the team would welcome him back. He burned some of his bridges on the way out to New York and his return is highly unlikely, but I know there are a lot of fans that would love to see #21 getting one more shot to make big things happen with the powder blues. When has ownership done what the fans want though?

Would you want to see LT back in powder blue for his farewell season?

    He didn’t burn the bridges, he blew the center supports up and bombed both sides of the chasm. LT is thorough when he pisses off management. Still, if he could pull a mea culpa, and kiss AJ’s ring (or rear) maybe he could end his career here.  One last run!

    • RMainwaring

       @RussellGrant I can’t add nothin to that!

      • biggsybolt

         @RMainwaring I’ve asked the Chargers PR gut Bill Johnston to please bring him back while on twitter. He basically told me it won’t happen. I hope things can be worked out but, that might just be a pipe dream.

        • RMainwaring

           @biggsybolt Yeah, I kinda figured that. A.J. is probably too butt hurt to bring back LT.

  • Bolts_NFL_music

    @r_mainwaring Somehow it would be very nice to see #LT in that blue and yellow uniform again #Chargers #BOLTUP

    • r_mainwaring

      @Bolts_NFL_music Wouldn’t it be crazy if he came back here and had another 1000 yard season?

      • Bolts_NFL_music

        @r_mainwaring Baahh, man that sounds too good. That would be awesome. I wanna believe that. #LT grap this #Chargers uniform and come back!

        • r_mainwaring

          @Bolts_NFL_music There would have to be some serious ass kissin goin on though!!

      • biggsybolt

        @r_mainwaring @Bolts_NFL_music I think he would be a great asset to @rmathews24 showing how to take hits and get out of bounds

      • BoogaP

        @r_mainwaring @Bolts_NFL_music Guys as much as I would LOVE to see it…..won’t happen. But if AJ did change his mind….EPIC.

        • Bolts_NFL_music

          @BoogaP @biggsybolt @r_mainwaring yes I guess this is reality, but dreams are free for anyone, and this thought is just nice. #Bolts

  • RMainwaring

    Running Back Ladanian Tomlinson 100% never gonna be a Charger again!

    • epadaon

       @RMainwaring hahahaha… agree with it

      • biggsybolt

         @epadaon  @RMainwaring I hope they can get along for 5 minutes so he can retire as a Bolt!

        • RMainwaring

           @biggsybolt  @epadaon When LT was released, Dean Spanos made him promise to retire as a Charger so I would imagine he probably will. I can’t believe a team hasn’t picked him up. I think he still has a little left in the tank.

  • the gorn

    I would bring him back because he remains good at all the things that 3rd down backs need to be good at.  Would AJ?  Forget about it!
