SAN DIEGO —- It was hard to find fault with what A.J. Smith did last week. The Chargers general manager recently completed what, on the surface, appears to be an excellent draft class. Hope typically springs eternal in April, when so many college picks seem destined for the Pro Bowl and even the lowest draft pick can be a starter by season’s end.

By the looks of it on YouTube, Mr. Irrelevant, Chandler Harnish, had a party Sunday to celebrate his name finally being called in the 2012 NFL Draft. The Colts, as you know, selected the quarterback from Northern Illinois 253rd.
