Garay has started the majority of San Diego’s games over the past two seasons after receiving scant playing time his first five years in the league. He recorded 105 tackles and eight sacks over 32 games — 28 starts — in 2010 and 2011.

I thought Garay was the last priority free agent remaining in the division and he was my 10th-best unrestricted free agent in the division. The Chargers had several priority free agents and Garay was one of them. It was essential that he was kept.

SAN DIEGO —- The Chargers brought back yet another desired free agent on Thursday, agreeing to terms on a two-year contract with nose tackle Antonio Garay.

Nose tackle Antonio Garay and the Chargers agreed to a two-year deal Thursday, a league source said, just three days after Garay’s camp expressed intention to visit other teams in the “near future.”
