Even though the San Diego Chargers are looking for a backup running back to replace Mike Tolbert, who signed with Carolina, they may already have someone to carry part of the load for starter Ryan Mathews.

The San Diego Chargers are depending on newly-signed fullback Le’Ron McClain’s blocking ability in the running game, but head coach Norv Turner likes the versatility he brings to the offense, reports Michael Gehlken of the San Diego Union-Tribune.

The Chargers have been uncharacteristically busy this offseason, perhaps alluding to the tremendous pressure on General Manager AJ Smith get back into the playoffs. Mychal Edelman and Josh Bretow talk about the Bolts’ new faces, whether or not the team has properly addressed roster holes, their excitement with the addition of Le’Ron McClain, and what Peyton Manning signing with the Broncos does to the AFC West landscape.

AJ Smith has more in common with William Shakespeare than one might think.  Every minute detail making up this epic 4 month performance, called the NFL off season, is written, edited, and directed by Smith.
