The franchise tag was 11 million year last year...where does he get 14. Jacksons deal with Tampa will count as 13 million against the cap each of the first two seasons. that would have left us with what....8 million in free cap money. He is only worth 9, and that number will tick down to 7.5 after having Josh Freeman throw to him for a season

I actually like the decision for Jackson to go screw himself in Tampa. Meachum will be a nice fit with Brown and Floyd. But since he got Mcclain he should get a new LT and tell Clary goodbye. The line will improve and Rivers will have a improved running game to boot. If they can get a speedster like LaMichael james to go along with Mathews and play some slot they'll look great in the run. They'll pick up a late WR too, but the rest of the money if they can squeeze it out should be to get Williams at DE and draft Perry. Then Safety can be a secound round decision. The D would really stiffen with the speed of those two. I'm still a believer in Gilchrist developing well at safety or CB so Jammer has some backing. The Chargers have definately improved drasticly already, but a LT would sure seal the deal. I wouldn't bet on Smith going after a RB in the 2nd or 3rd round now.
