Pierre Garcon Chose RG3 Over Philip Rivers and the Chargers

Phil Sears-US PRESSWIRE

It sounds like the Chargers had Pierre Garcon on top of their list to replace Vincent Jackson. Here is the note from Jason LaCanfora:

Though Washington was the early favorite to acquire the former Colts receiver, the Chargers came in late with an offer that matched the Redskins. If Garcon had not valued the potential of catching passes from RG3, he likely would’ve taken that cross-country flight to sign with San Diego.

So, Garcon chose the rookie quarterback over our Pro-Bowl quarterback?! Are you CRAZY!?! RG3 has a lot of hype to live up to already and we know he has a believer in Pierre Garcon. I HATE Garcon now!

That was not smart.there is a great opportunity in San Diego for wide receivers to step up to be an elite receiver with Rivers in need of a number one option.

Must have heard bad things about AJ from Manning. I’m with ya, hate him as much as a Manning!

@chargersbuzztap Can’t be happier that he went elsewhere for that kind of money.

Don’t hate him.  Look at Carolina and Cam Newton.  The wideouts that stuck there were rewarded with one badass QB.  Is RG3 Cam Newton?  Too early to say but he did show up with a head on his shoulders.  And we showed up late to the party.  You know Washington was going to throw down a blank check.  Let’s see where Meachem takes us.

Acee had tweeted Meachem was #1 target over Garcon.  I would hope so.  Never been big on Pierre “Waiter.”
