Chargers Will Retain Richard Goodman and Mike Windt

Cary Edmondson-US PRESSWIRE

The San Diego Chargers have informed kick returner Richard Goodman and long snapper Mike Windt that they will be retained as exclusive-rights free agents (Michael Gehlken).

Goodman did well as the kick returner last season. Early in the season, there were times I got frustrated with him for taking the ball out 7 yards deep in the end zone, but later in the year he was breaking off longer and longer runs till he actually took one to the house. He should definitely benefit from that experience and have an even better season coming up.

Mike Windt has done a good job as the long snapper since he was brought in. He had to replace David Binn, but he did alirght. We didn’t have a punt blocked all of last season and I don’t remember one bad snap. Sounds good enough for me!

So glad Goody will still be a Charger.  We need more on our team with his work ethic and attitude.

I’m happy AJ is sold on Goodman, I’m not and I feel he blew it big when he let Seji Aritutu go insted of Goodman. Goodman has looked like a one trick pony so far and we need guys that can fill multible positions. Lets all hope VJ comes back to us for a long term Contract. If Smith blows this one with Rivers and Turners backing for Jackson Spanos ought to say goodbye right after the training camp!
