Could The Chargers Take A Ride On A Caddy?

Could the Chargers take a ride on a Caddy – beep beep?

Kevin Acee specifically mentioned Cadillac Williams in his latest mailbag as a player that we could target in free agency:

They are looking at free agent running backs, for sure. There is no guarantee they will be able to keep Mike Tolbert, and they’d like to have five backs anyway … One interesting possibility would be Cadillac Williams

Does Cadillac have anything left in the tank?

He hasn’t run for over 1000 yards since his rookie season in 2005 and I don’t think he has any knees because he has hurt them so much! He has always been a good pass catcher out of the backfield and I am sure he can still block, but I think this Caddy is ready to hit the junk yard.

I would rather see Curtis Brinkley get an opportunity! BEEP BEEP!

This sounds like another useless pickup in free agency. Williams won’t fill a void left by Tolbert, that of special teams, power running and blocking in the backfield. Williams is over and there’s no use picking up road kill. Stick with what we got and add LaMichael james. Like I’ve been saying, these players that are multitalented in several roles are way better than a specialist, and that’s if their starting their career. I’ll have to disagree with Mr. Acee, Williams would be downgrading are offense. I’m behind Smith on what he’s built at this point, just not what they’ve let go in the name of money. Mathews Tolbert,Hester and a drafted James would fill our returner needs a reciever need and a back-up fire plug that can step in at running back if neccesary.
