Around The AFC West: Peyton Manning To Chiefs Talk Heating Up

I went over to Arrowhead Addict and saw this little headline: Peyton Manning To Chiefs Talk Heating Up!

The first thing that went through my head was, OH PLEASE NO!!!

Our biggest advantage in this division is Philip Rivers. We have the best quarterback in the West (Sorry Tebow fans!). We don’t need the Chiefs to add a talent like Manning onto their roster. I am more than happy to face Matt Cassell twice a season, but don’t like the thoughts of playing against Peyton.

The Chiefs already have a lot of young talent on that roster and if Peyton can be anywhere near his Hall of Fame self, then we are in for a lot of trouble. Peyton to Dwayne Bowe and Jonathan Baldwin… No thank you!

I know his arm is about to fall off, but he can just go and do that in Miami or some other place.

Peyton Manning to the Chiefs, Raiders, or Broncos would be the scariest thing ever.  Honestly, other than Philip Rivers, the Chargers have nothing to be proud of.  Luckily for us Charger fans, none of our competitors have been able to find a franchise quarterback.  But these three teams mentioned would be elite teams if they had Manning, they are all top 5 running teams, and top 5 defenses year after year, all they are missing is a franchise quarterback.
That’s why it was so scary last year when Palmer went to the Raiders, I thought it would be the end of the world but though Palmer is an upgrade to Cambell, he did not play as well as everyone thought he would, luckily.  AFC West is getting tougher!

Just like with any QB,  it’s hard to throw the ball when he’s on his back.

@Vardog we better get some pass rush then!!! we need to knock that fool down over and over and over again!!!!

@epadaon Getting away from the 3-4 is a start

@Vardog or getting the right personnel for the 3-4… one or the other works for me! hoping we get a big pass rusher this offseason and i will definitely be smiling.

actually, want a lot of things!!

@epadaon You need dominate players for a 3-4 to work well.  If the offensive line can match up with you 1-on-1, you’re screwed.  You need a tackle that needs to get double teamed so you can have a free backer.  I’ll probably take some heat from this, but I’d even take a gamble on Albert Haynesworth.

Peyton isn’t a concern in my book, Chargers have the best remedy to stop him, and that is getting pressure on him and we do it each time we go heads up.
