RotoWorld Predicts Vincent Jackson To Tampa Bay Buccaneers

RotoWorld just recently predicted that the Chargers would bring in Cedric Benson at runningback and now they are back in the predicting game and have Vincent Jackson signing with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers:

Availability: The Bolts will reportedly “do everything in their power” to re-sign their top receiver, and there appears to be mutual interest on Jackson’s end. The franchise tag is prohibitive, however, as Jackson would collect 120 percent ($13.7 million) of his $11.4 million 2011 salary. GM A.J. Smith will make a competitive offer, but there will be at least one desperate team with the cash flow to overpay. The Rams, Bucs, Redskins and Vikings should be among Jackson’s most ardent suitors.

Prediction: Buccaneers on a five-year, $56 million contract.

Will Vincent Jackson chase the money?! There will definitely be teams that will offer more money than us, but they do not have the same talent on offense or at the quarterback position like we do.

The Buccaneers have a whole new coaching staff and they have Josh Freeman as their quarterback – it doesn’t sound like a real attractive place for VJ to head out to. I think Jackson wants to get PAID, but I also thinks he wants to win. Let’s see if we can make a competitive enough offer to keep him around.

I keep thinking “Had we given him a 5 year deal two years ago, would we be standing here like this?”

@RussellGrant if we could only turn back the hands of time!!!!

if he didnt pick up those DUIs or kick the penalty flag, then we might not be in this situation either.

@epadaon True. But he got past the idiot phase and has done well for us. Time for AJ to figure out how to make this good for him, provided we still need someone to stretch the field.

he has definitely cleaned up and it seems that he wants to stay here.. i just dont know if we will make an offer to keep him around. so anxious to see what happens there! @RussellGrant

Here we go again, another writer wanting to create rumors to stir up the readers. jackson will be a Charger this next season if not for quite a while. They know how valuable he is to Rivers and the Chargers but they can’t let it be. It’s just my opinion too, but Turner,Rivers, and Jackson himself has made it clear where he’d like to be. Only if Smith wants to stick it to the Chargers and their fans does Jackson leave.

Tampa went 10-6 two years ago, and was in most of the games last year, till the players folded at the end. A few good players in the right places, and improvement of some of Tampa’s young guys, coupled with some one that knows how to call plays, and I think the Buc’s can bounce back and win some games. they were in there own way last year, blind leading the blind.
