Jackson wanted to feel appreciated, he picked the wrong year last year no doubt, but Smith should us his knees in getting Rivers and jackson to stay together. The team has chemistry we all saw it against Baltimore and the Bills D. Yetall the fans I'm hearing lets rotate all our players. Rivers had a off year and was getting dumped alot. Well our O-line wasn't that great and that needs fixing. But the crying about the defense and drafting for D. hey the Coach was fired, we expected pressure and he didn't bring it. he called the plays, in the last 5-6 games when LaBoy was hurt and he did decide to bring pressure they looked great. yes we could use a upgrade at DE, Safety and Olb help. But please fans, your part of this team (so to speak) don't dis the guys for lousey play calling. They were coached conservatively by both the offense and defense which leads to Turner, it's his team. He's smart enough to look at last years tape and see when they were let loose they played well against some good-good teams. Team is continuity, timing, family, so don't trade in the mustang because you were afraid to put the peddle to the metal. Just tune it up a bit, and this year don't be afraid of the car.

Weddle played well, and players after big contracts settle alittle. This is the year to judge him, there wasn't alot better safetys out there. #1 it's the defense they were running, they fired the coach for lack of pressure and D all together. So Cason looked mediocre as well as Weddle, Jammer and the OlB's. A bad Coaching job makes them all look bad. So don't put to much into the players plate when it comes to the defense looking bad. If the Chargers strenthen their D-line and Olb's all will fall into place and some of the bad mouthing will be quickly forgotten.

I'm really in for signing Welker to play the slot, but the way he was dispensed he'd have to be paid alot. I think getting Oregons James to be punt returner, 3rd down back, reciever would fill alot more wholes for less and he's younger which will help. If for gods sake Mathews goes down then James and hopefully Tolbert will be there to fill in. Goodman, if James was picked and signed could be put on the practice or waived, as James would surely be a upgrade. He did alittle of everything at Oregon and that I think is what the scouts are missing. He played with a running QB and filled all the spots they needed.
