Greg Manusky Interviews With Oakland Raiders for Defensive Coordinator Position

First off, WHAT SIZE SHORTS is he wearing in that photo!?

According Fox Sports, the Oakland Raiders have interviewed former Chargers defensive coordinator Greg Manusky for the defensive coordinator position. Manusky was let go by the Bolts at the end of this season. His game plan was not aggressive and his attitude did not rub players the right way.

If he gets the job with the Oakland Raiders, we can only hope that he continues his terrible job of coaching defenses. He was the coordinator with the San Francisco 49ers last season and after he left they became a powerhouse on the defensive side of the ball.

I hope he gets the job and brings Travis LaGirl with him!

Yes here it is!! I hate the Raiders worse than most, but SanosSmith and Turner are going to get paid back ouch!! If the Raiders sign Manusky Phillip Rivers is going to running for his life. The Raiders have been known to like to pressure and have the personnel. The Chargers Offensive Line and AJ Smith blaming manusky for the lack of a rush is going to wish they never new this guy, The lack of defensive intensity wasn’t manuskys fault. Using the 3-4 as a zone give ground but not the big one wasn’t Manuskys style. They signed him because of his success in SF pressuring opposing QB’s only he wasn’t given the chance except for a handfull of games and they won those. he followed the headcoaches lead and had to play it safe. heaven help Rivers if I’m right and I hope not. I hope Turner wakes up and lets his D-Coordinator run the defense, and worrys about getting a DOMINATE Offensive line to keep Rivers erect. Or Rivers like Fouts will be the best to never win a superbowl.

@MikeTuck i have to disagree with you on this one… manusky was known as a loud mouth BUT you can ask the niners fans about his defense. he wasnt known too much for putting a lot of pressure on the qb. he was known more for slowing the running game.

look at the change that happened when he left the niners… their attitude changed and they now get after the quarterback.

i would love him to head over to oakland and bring that 2-man pass rush out to oakland and STILL allow the quarterback to complete a 20-yard pass.

      GO GET EM OAKLAND!!!

Look how well the 49ers played without Manusky. I hope the faders do sign him. Just one more thing falling into place so the Boltz get back were they belong-first place in the AFC west.

Good, let him destroy their d!!!!

ERNIE: Man I hope your right It was just wierd how Rivera used Pressure at Chicago and we had the same problem. I would have liked them to have gotten Phillips to come back to San Diego for a year, it would of given him a break at head coach and then both the Chargers and Phillips could decide his future next year. Phillips wouldn’t be the greatest head Coach but if Norv takes another nose dive he’d be already here to take over. Just get another Offensive Coordinator or see if Norv would switch with him next year. I think that would be the ticket!!

@MikeTuck i hope i am right also… mainly because i hope that john pagano can bring something else new to our defense and that he is able to bring an aggressive attack on that side of the ball.

IF Manusky goes to Oakland, it wouldn’t surprise me if Oakland had a good defense still. Their head coach that they brought in is defensive minded out of Denver and they ran an aggressive attack in Denver. i would give the credit to the head coach for that change though and not manusky… manusky would basically be like our offensive coordinator here… a shadow behind the head coach
